CaixaBank, new sponsor of the Conde de Godó Trophy
The Real Club Náutico de Barcelona and CaixaBank have signed a collaboration agreement whereby the bank sponsors the 46th Conde de Godó Trophy.
The prestigious regatta, organized by the Barcelona yacht club since 1974 with the support of the Godó family, takes the name of CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy, in an edition that will be held from May 23 to 26 and comes with several new features.
"For the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona the sponsorship of CaixaBank is very important, because it is a brand that brings value and is deeply rooted in our city," said club representatives.
It is expected that up to 70 boats take the first start of the Spanish championship on Friday May 24, after an opening day (that of the 23rd) dedicated to the registration of participants and other preparations.
Of these, a total of 30 monotypes are expected, distributed among the J80, J70 and Dragon classes, for which the CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy will be the Spanish Cup.
The growing commitment to the monotype is one of the novelties in this edition, with the inclusion this year of the J70 and the Dragons. But the ORC cruises will continue to be the alma mater of the CaixaBank Conde de Godó, and also this year framed in the newly opened Mediterranean Sailing Circuit, consisting of the 16th Sail Racing PalmaVela, the 46th CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy and the XXI Trophy La Reina (July 5-7).
After the Sail Racing PalmaVela, the classification of the Mediterranean Circuit is lead by TP52 Arobas2 (ORC 0), Dralion (ORC 1), Shazam (ORC 2), Vertigo Dos Texia (ORC 3) and Just de Job (ORC 4-5).
Organized by the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona with the collaboration of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation and the Catalan Sailing Federation, the 46th CaixaBank Conde de Godó Trophy is sponsored by CaixaBank and supported by La Vanguardia, the City Council of Barcelona and the Generalitat de Catalunya. The collaborators are Gramona, Estrella Damm, Royal Bliss, VIP Style Magazine, Veri, Benfumat, Nordés and Mizuno.
