First day, first races!
Between 8 and 10 knots South breezes are expected for the first day of competition of the 44 Conde de Godó Trophy, which gather almost 50 boats from eight countries.
One of them is Maserati, which has been presented this morning at Real Club Nautico de Barcelona. Led by Olympic champion Fernando León, the crew debuts with Maserati in the Conde de Godó and arrives with the highest aspirations after winning the Copa del Rey in Palma last year. "The Godó is a good starting point of the season," commented León, "for the competitiveness of the regatta. It will be exciting. Rats on Fire will be one of the rivals, but there will be others. The victory becomes more complicated, but it is more beautiful."
The village has opened this morning with the meteorological briefing and this afternoon will already be at full capacity to receive the sailors after the first races, two for the ORC and three for the J80.
