One month to go and the quality of the teams grows day by day. The warm up call is on for the 39º Trofeo Conde de Godo 3 different sailing areas for the amateurs and professional clases.

One month to go and the quality of the teams grows day by day. The warm up call is on for the 39º Trofeo Conde de Godo 3 different sailing areas for the amateurs and professional clases.

The Trofeo Conde de Godó will launch the international circuit for TP52 and Soto 40 classes

With one month to go the 39º Trofeo Conde Godó –organized by Real Club Náutico de Barcelona- is ready and the number of entries confirmed grows every day. The competition (23-27th of May) will register six different classes (Wally, Maxi, TP52, Soto 40, ORC and J-80).

BIG SHOW FOR WALLY, MAXI, TP52 AND SOTO 40 CLASSES

The TP52 and Soto 40 class will have a big date at the Conde de Godo, their first regatta for their international circuits and among the entries registered already it´s easy to find several important contenders for this important trophy. Teams from United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, Germany or Argentina will be at the starting line.

At the always majestic Wally Class, teams as J ONE ownered by M.Jean-Charles Decaus, Open Season ownered by Thomas Bscher, Lindsay Own-Jones’ Magic Carpet or the Spanish Tiketitoo ownered by Alberto Palatchi will be racing at Real Club Náutico de Barcelona.

Among the TP52 the contenders are now lead by Audi Azzurra ownered by Alberto Roemmers or the British boats RÁN or Gladiator (ownered by Niklas Zennstrom and Tony Langley).

The Soto 40 class is other one with really high profile units, as the team lead by Agustín Zulueta, Iberdrola, or the German team Black Pearl ownered S. Jentzsch.

ORC CLASS, HUGE PARTICIPATION

The fight will be really tight for the boats racing with the ORC System and the participation will be mainly coming for the local fleet at Barcelona. Several teams we cannot forget are ES TES UNNO owered by Francisco Soldevilla, Tirant Lo Blanc ownered by Joaquin Barenys or L’Immens ownered by Alex Laplaza.

J80, THE MONOTYPE

With the smallest length of the entry fleet, but with an important rol. The organization of 39º Trofeo Conde Godó expects to have around 15 J80 racing for this important trophy.

The Gold medalist at Barcelona 92, José María Van der Ploeg, with his J80 Nilfisk is one of the sailors that, with an incredible knowledge of the sailing area, will fight for the Trofeo Conde Godó.

The village of the 45th Conde de Godó Trophy opens this afternoon. It is undoubtedly one of the protagonists of this regatta organized by the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona since 1974. The space is a meeting point for the crews before and after racing. First day on the water for the 45th Conde de Godó Trophy. The first starts are scheduled for 14.30h, for the 51 boats and 500 sailors who have gathered in what is one of the most important regattas in the Mediterranean.

Up to 51 boats and some 500 sailors from eight countries meet at the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona (RCNB) for the 45th Conde de Godó Trophy, with racing from Friday to Sunday. Rats on Fire, L'Immens, Fanytas and Bribón-Movistar will defend title in each of the four categories, but victories this year are sold expensive, as a result of the modifications that the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation has done in the cruising regatta rules.
